Who We Are
MISSION
The mission of ECAG is to serve as an international fellowship of Christians who love God by leading others into His love. Our mission is advanced through a contemporary ministry that is motivated by Christ’s love in its worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministries, and evangelism.

Our “Mission Statement” is Biblically based and embodies the principles of the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36 – 39) and the Great Commission (Matthew 23:18 – 20). |
VISION
Our ten-year vision for ECAG sees the growth of this congregation reaching 700 people at this location. We envision our unique ethnic diversity to make us one of the most international houses of worship in Indianapolis. We expect the spiritual maturity of God’s people to increase through connecting relationships of 70(+) small groups. We envision a majority of our adult/young adult members to be involved in ministries within, or evangelism through, ECAG. We expect to double our financial support for world evangelism to include 100 missionaries and/or mission projects. And, we envision the expansion of our facilities to include a new sanctuary for 600 in worship services and a new ministry wing to provide for enhanced children’s and youth ministries, as well as a fellowship hall.
HISTORY
In the spring of 1991 the Indiana District Assemblies of God surveyed the Northwest Indianapolis area to determine interest in a new Assembly of God church. From the fifty-five responses that followed, the District initiated this church planting project and Rev. Randy (& Sharon) Blankenship, Sr., was called to serve as the pastor.
Eagle Creek Assembly of God church began with its first service being held on April 21, 1991 at the Child Care Center located near West 71st St. and I-465; twenty six (26) people were present. In the early months that followed, attendance ranged from 11 – 20 people, but increased to average 70 after 2 ½ years.
Not long thereafter, the Lord blessed the young congregation with five (5) acres of property along Interstate 65 for $50,000. The Indiana District A/G, along with other caring churches, helped purchase the property and the building project soon followed. The first service in the new building was Sept. 12, 1993.
Specialized ministries for children and youth were soon added. In 1995, an expansion of the building included an educational wing, sanctuary overflow, and kitchen.
In 1998, the 100-seat balcony was added to the sanctuary. In 1999, the steel youth / children’s church facility was built and Rev. Nathan (& Christina) Peternel joined the ECAG staff at that time and served thru 2007. In February, 2001, Pastor Blankenship accepted a new position with the Indiana District A/G office.
Rev. Gregory (& Vicky) Gentry accepted the call to serve as Senior Pastor of Eagle Creek A/G on July 1, 2002. An additional three (3) acres of church property, (across the street from our facility) was cleared of a 100 year old home in Dec., 2003 for possible future ministry needs. Since that time, renovations of the main foyer followed, re-painting of the entire facility, & other extensive sanctuary and facility upgrades, including the building of a storage facility, new carpet throughout the church and new sanctuary chairs in 2011. A sacrificial giving effort by the congregation brought about the early retirement of the church mortgage in 2007. The ministry remains debt free today.
Rev. Anthony Green joined the ECAG staff in June, 2008 as Assoc. Pastor, with emphasis on Youth and Music. His wife, Jodi, later joined our staff as Public Relations Director on a part-time basis. Pastor Anthony led the expansion work of our new audio/visual control booth in the sanctuary balcony in 2009, enhancing our worship experience. He also directed the renovations of our youth facility, and gave oversight to our new video projection booth on the main floor of the sanctuary in 2011.
Above all, many lives and families have experienced the life-transforming grace of God here as the Lord Jesus Christ has been exalted, the Word of God has been faithfully taught, and the Spirit of God has been honored. Our hearts are filled with thanksgiving for the remarkable favor of God which has enabled the congregation of ECAG to be a significant source of blessing, spiritually and physically, to hundreds of families in our 20 year history. Our expanding “food pantry” now serves over 600 families / 2,500 people annually, as well. Though we live in rapidly changing and perilous times, our focus is on a hope-filled future that is as bright as the promises of God! ECAG is an international fellowship of loving Christians, committed to a 21st century ministry that is balanced in worship, fellowship, discipleship, & outreach. Until Christ Jesus comes again, we are committed to continue… “Loving God, Loving Others, and Living Well.”
